Quickie

Hey people!

It's gonna be a short post for now. Just so you guys know, I'm back in KK!! Just got back today.. Mom's not feeling too well. I'm just glad I'm back to be with her. I haven't been blogging lately coz the internet at home was unavailable. Blame P1 for their so called 'upgrade'! We ended up with no internet for 2 days!! *insert swear word* Argh!

Anyways, I'm still up click click clacking on this keyboard which is making too much noise. I'm pretty sleepy but I figured I'd squeeze in one post before I call it a night. So I guess I'll end here. That's enough of an update for now. Don't wanna wake up the mom with the click clacks..

Will update soon enough!!

Missing Rafiq, Allie, Buddy, the brats, and Shemah!

Brat Outside, Geek Inside

These rainy days have made me miss reading a good book. I used to read so much, that I'd spend hundreds on nothing but novels. Believe it or not, there was a time when I had enough clothes for me to not even care about getting new clothes. And that's when I'd spend most of my money on books by James Patterson. He was my favorite author. Still is! It's just that nowadays I feel like I don't even have time to read. The thing about me is that I don't like reading books when I know I have stuff to do. When I read novels, I'd curl up in bed and get immersed in the story for hours. Sometimes, I'd even skip meals! Once, I had no money to buy a book that I went to MPH, picked up a book, picked a cozy corner, and read the book until I finished it! Yup, true story!

Nowadays it's not just the fact that I don't have time, but I'd also rather spend my money on clothes. Hehe.. There are so many James Patterson books that I'm dying to buy and I haven't even started reading Dan Brown's latest, 'The Lost Symbol'! I did look at it longingly at Kinokuniya a few weeks ago but I just didn't wanna spend that much on the hardcover. Shemah suggested that I get Amazon books coz they're way cheaper and they offer 50% off bestsellers everyday. But I still prefer actually going into a bookstore rather than checking em out online.

I think I'll go to Borders tomorrow. Since I'll be having lunch at The Curve with the girls tomorrow, I might pop in and look at that Dan Brown novel longingly again. Hehehe... *sigh* I really do need a good book. The weather permits it... :))

November dahhh???

So, November is finally here and November rain has never showed its presence more like today. As much as I don't like the year to end, the time has come to move forward, get ready for the year to come, compare life insurance, and make new resolutions. But before we move forward, let's recap the month that was. Here are some of my favorite highlights of October '09..

On the 8th, we celebrated my girlfriend, Zalina's birthday and we came up with a theme for the party. My idea was to have the birthday girl wear red while everyone else wore white. With that, Tasha decided to have an all pink, red and white theme. It turned out soooo beautiful! We were able to get our own private room at Vincenzo, and the decorations were so lovely. I even made pink placecards for everyone and friendship bands for everyone to wear. It was by far the best surprise birthday dinner we organized. :D She was definitely surprised alright!

The next day, we surprised her again by taking her to Zouk coz she's been wanting to put on her dancing shoes since forever so she was really happy when we finally decided to take her clubbing. :)

Then there was Fiona's bbq gathering that was simply amazing! The food was oh so glorious! I never ate so much in my life! The best part was that all the food was prepared by Fiona and her friends. They'll definitely make their husbands happy one day. Hehe...

One of my other favorite highlights was Tasha's open house held on the 17th. Her open house is definitely one not to be missed. I missed it 2 years in a row so this year, I was ecstatic to finally able to make it. It's not so much of the open house itself that's fun, but it's also the after party that everyone always looks forward to. This year we played Taboo til after midnight and to say that it was fun is an understatement. It was abso-effing-lutely terrifically fun!! :D

Allie's birthday on the 29th was definitely one to cherish. She looked sooo cute and just look how grown up she is already! She was so happy to get balloons and she got a huge chocolate cake all for herself. Hehe.. I can totally see brat potential. :p

And lastly, there was last night's Halloween party that was fun just because it was great seeing everyone dress up. I didn't dress up coz I didn't plan to go all out for Halloween this year. At the last minute we got invites to party at MOS, so Shakira and I ended up going and took the opportunity to take pics with the rest of the party goers. :)

All in all, October was a great month. Not as great as September, but of course it's hard to live up to Beyonce. Plus, Beyonce IN Singapore! Hehehe.. But good job anyway October. :) Hopefully November has much to offer as well, besides the constant rain.. Haihh..

Happy Birthday Allieee!!!

Allie is 2 years old todayyy!! How time flies by so fasttt.. Allie, you're lucky to have a really wacky aunt! Haha.. And I'm sure Allie knows that. If it weren't for me, she wouldn't delve into the world of makeup, nail polish and pretty clothes so soon! But it's ok if you wanna learn how to be a diva so early in your years. As long as you don't grow up to be naughty, don't start smoking in which your time they'll be smoking electronic cigarettes, and stay away from the bad boys. Hehe. Which will be hard coz girls are just prone to date bad boys. But let's not talk about dating yet!! For now, enjoy being a lil kid and throwing tantrums coz when you get older, you don't get to throw tantrums anymore. And you'll miss it, believe me!! :P I love you sooooo sooo muchhh!! Be good. Don't give Mommy too many headaches and when you're feeling blue, I'll always be there for you!! :D Ummmaahhhhh!!!

p/s: thanks for your lil kisses just now!! ;)

Get comfortable

A friend once said to me, "You know you're Malaysian when you shop for a DVD player, you make sure it can play pirated DVDs." Hahaha! That's so true.

Last time I used to burn all my downloaded files into a cd and then watch it all on TV. That way I didn't hafta hurt my back watching marathon tv series from my laptop. I'm sure most people still do that nowadays. It's definitely more comfortable watching your favorite tv series with awesome surround system and a plasma tv. Like right now, I'm currently watching Heroes from the laptop. My back is hurting from sitting on a chair for hours straight, and my ears are beginning to hurt from the earphones that I have on. Very uncomfortable! I would totally get a mini theater system if only I could afford one.

You can get something like this at Shopwiki.com for an average price of $108. Not too bad, huh? Definitely beats watching Heroes from a laptop. Hehe.. If the photo above managed to capture your attention, you should check out more home theater systems from Shopwiki. Not only do they provide awesome buys but also guidelines for those first timers who want to know which systems to get. Do check it out!

As for myself, I'm gonna go continue watching Heroes from my laptop and continue torturing my back. Ouch! One day, Shopwiki. One day!
